About J.T.

J.T. is a remakable young man with extaordinary talent. After learning to play piano on a digital piano, his parents invested in a small grand piano for him to advance his training and reach his potential as a pianist. The investment paid off quickly, as J.T. was soon placing and eventually winning in the area's most presigious piano competitions. Congratulations J.T.!


UPDATE: J.T. Plays to help raise funds for Albany's homeless.


The New York State Music Teacher's Association partnered with the Homless And Traveler's Aid Society to hold a gingerbread house contest and piano marathon at the Crossgates Mall. All proceeds went to HATAS aid and prevention programs for Albany's homeless. 

J.T. was one of approximately 120 piano students from the Capital Region who got pledges from friends and family to participate in the event. About $5000 was raised.

Just one year after placing Runner Up, J.T. returns to the Chopin Competition and takes First Place! Congratulations J.T.!



UPDATE: J.T. takes first place at the 3rd Annual Tchaikovsky Piano Competition!

UPDATE: J.T. Takes Runner Up at 2011 Chopin Competition


Congratulations to J.T. Sterle, who, after practicing only about 6 months on his new grand piano, placed "Runner Up" at the prestigious 2011 Frederic Chopin Piano Competition, held at the Blessed Virgin Mary of Czestochowa Church in Colonie.

This was J.T.'s first competition ever, which makes his accomplishment that much more exciting. TheChopin Competition website lists the Winner and Runner up in the three age categories: Young (8-11), Apprentice (12-14), and Master (15-19).
