When the Artistic Director of Opera Saratoga, Curtis Tucker, said he needed a modern-looking piano that wasn't too big, but had a big enough sound for the Spa Little Theater in Saratoga Springs, we said Avant Grand!

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Opera Saratoga (formerly Lake George opera), the Company reproduced two operas that were originally produced in the Company's inaugural year: Strauss's Die Fledermaus and Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte. The latter was re-envisioned in a posh modern setting, highlighted by Yamaha's newest marvel, the Avant Grand. 

The world's first true-hybrid piano, the Avant Grand features the keys and action assembly of a 6'1" Yamaha grand piano and the sound of a 9' concert grand, produced by a state-of-the-art sampling process that has the piano industry buzzing. In addition to the N3 model pictured on stage and below, Yamaha has released two vertical models that also feature a grand action and 9' concert grand tone.
